SHOW UP

Terms of Use

These are the rules for using Show Up, written to be read. Using the app means you agree to them.

Who we are

Show Up is made by Alexander Reed Rodgers ("we", "us"). These terms are an agreement between you and us. They cover the Show Up app on iPhone and Android and the website at showup.run.

How we handle your personal data is in our Privacy Policy, which is part of these terms.

Who can use Show Up

You need to be at least 13. If you're under 18, use Show Up with a parent's or guardian's permission. For anyone under 18 the app uses safer settings: no calorie deficit, no advanced-only lifts, and the lightest starting weights.

Keep your sign-in details to yourself. You're responsible for what happens on your account, and you can tell us at any time if you think someone else is using it.

Your health comes first

Show Up is not medical advice. Plans, targets, calorie numbers and coach notes are general fitness guidance, not a diagnosis or treatment.

Talk to a doctor before you start training or change how you eat, especially if you're pregnant, have a medical condition or injury, or have a history of disordered eating. Stop and get help if something hurts, you feel dizzy or unwell. In an emergency, call your local emergency number.

You choose the weights you lift and how you train, and you're responsible for training safely: use good form, a spotter where it's needed, and equipment that's in good condition.

The AI coach

The coach in Show Up is artificial intelligence, not a person. It reads what you log and tell it, and writes plans, notes, reports and replies from that. It can be wrong, misread what you meant, or miss something about your health.

Free, Pro and trials

What's free

Show Up is free to use. What stays free lists what's free, and none of it moves behind Pro later. Some features have daily limits, shown in the app.

Pro

Pro is an optional subscription, monthly or yearly, bought through the App Store or Google Play. The price is shown before you buy and may differ by country. Apple or Google takes the payment and their terms apply to it.

Trials

Pro only adds to what you've logged. If Pro ends, nothing you logged is held back.

Crews and the community

Posts, comments, crew chat, names and photos you share can be seen by the people you share them with. Be the kind of training partner you'd want. Don't post or send anything that:

You can report or block anyone in the app. We review reports, and we may remove content or limit or suspend accounts that break these rules, with or without notice.

Using Show Up fairly

Use Show Up for your own training. Don't:

Your data and content

What you log and post stays yours. You give us permission to store it, process it, and show it to the people you choose, only so we can run Show Up for you. That includes sending what's needed to the services that run Show Up for us, such as the AI provider behind the coach.

You can export everything you've logged from Settings at any time, and delete your account and its data from Settings too.

What's ours

The app, its design, the Show Up name and logo, the exercise guides and the written content belong to us or to people who license them to us. We give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the app while these terms apply. Exercise demonstration videos are licensed to us for use inside the app only and can't be downloaded or shared outside it.

Some food data comes from Open Food Facts, available under the Open Database License. Nutrition values for foods can be wrong, so check the label when it matters.

Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time in Settings. Deleting it doesn't cancel a store subscription: cancel that in the App Store or Google Play.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts other people or the service at risk. If Show Up itself ever shuts down, we'll tell you in advance where we can, so you can export your data.

Warranties and liability

We work hard to make Show Up reliable and accurate, but it's provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we don't promise it will always be available, error-free or right for your goals, and we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for injuries that come from how you choose to train or eat.

Where the law allows a limit, our total liability to you is the amount you paid for Show Up in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under consumer law where you live.

If you downloaded Show Up from the App Store, Apple's standard licence agreement also applies. Apple isn't responsible for the app or its support, and is a third-party beneficiary of these terms.

Changes, law and contact

We may update these terms as Show Up changes. If a change matters, we'll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. Using Show Up after that means you accept the new terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, USA, except where the consumer laws of your own country say otherwise.
